Backup & recovery
Business Backup and Disaster Recovery
A backup is only useful if it restores. Our backup and disaster recovery work sets up encrypted backups and tests the restore path.
So tax-season files, law firm files, and medical records have a practical recovery plan.
- Serving Los Angeles
- Business IT since 1998
- Remote first, on-site when needed
What is included
Encrypted backups
Critical data protected and encrypted.
Offsite & cloud copies
A copy that is not in the office.
Restore tests
Proof of what will come back, and where the plan needs work.
Workstation & server recovery
Getting machines working again after a failure.
Ransomware & hardware plans
A written path for ransomware and hardware failure.
How backup and disaster recovery works
We review the office, protect the data, and test a restore. When something fails, we help recover workstations and servers and get the business moving again.
Cloud backups built with separate layers of protection
Your backup encryption and cloud storage shouldn’t depend on a single layer of security. Our approach separates them.
Our backup software encrypts your files before they leave your system. The encrypted backups are then transferred to a dedicated cloud storage bucket, which adds its own encryption using separate keys.
The storage bucket does not hold the keys needed to decrypt your backup files. Its role is to receive and store data that is already encrypted. Even if someone gained access to the stored files and bypassed the bucket’s encryption, your backups would remain encrypted without the separate backup decryption keys.
Your backups are stored in Germany, adding European data privacy protections to this layered security approach.
Getting started
- We look at the officeNetwork, backups, Microsoft 365, and how the office runs.
- We put the structure inSecurity, encryption, infrastructure, and a restore path.
- You call a technicianRemote first. On-site when that is what it takes.
Backup and disaster recovery, step by step
Backup and disaster recovery are two plans. The backup saves the data. The recovery plan gets people working again, in the right order.

What’s included
What a solid plan has:
- Copies in more than one place, one of them offline or locked
- Encryption on every copy
- Cloud data covered too, like Microsoft 365
- Restore tests with dates and results
- A written order for what comes back first
- Steps for ransomware and hardware failure
How we start
- List what the business cannot lose
- Check how each item is backed up today
- Close gaps and add an offline copy
- Test a restore and write it down
Ransomware changes the rules
Attackers now look for backups first. CISA’s StopRansomware guide recommends offline, encrypted backups that are tested. Backup and disaster recovery has to plan for that.
The 3-2-1 idea
A common rule of thumb: three copies of your data, on two kinds of storage, with one copy off-site. Add one copy that cannot be changed or deleted, and backup and disaster recovery holds up against ransomware.
What the first visit looks like
A technician checks the network closet, the firewall, the WiFi, and a few workstations. We look at how backups run and whether MFA is on. You get a short list in plain English, with the urgent items first.
FAQ
Can you test our restores?
Yes. Restore tests show what will come back and where the recovery plan needs work.
Do you support law firms and medical offices?
Yes. We build practical backup and recovery plans for businesses, including law and medical offices.
Is there a ticket queue?
No. You call or text and reach a technician.
How often should backup and disaster recovery be tested?
On a schedule and after any big change.
Is cloud storage a backup?
Not by itself. Sync copies mistakes and ransomware too.
Where are our backups stored?
In Germany, which adds European data privacy protections.
Does the cloud storage hold the keys to decrypt our backups?
No. Our backup software encrypts your files before they leave your system, and the storage bucket does not hold the keys needed to decrypt them.
