Cloud migration
Cloud Migration Services for Small Businesses
Our cloud migration services move your files, email, and applications off aging servers and into the cloud, with a plan, a test run, and a way back if something goes wrong.
We help you decide what belongs in the cloud and what should stay in the office.
- Serving Los Angeles
- Business IT since 1998
- Remote first, on-site when needed
Why move
Cloud migration services that start with a plan
Moving to the cloud can cut server costs, make remote work easier, and remove a single point of failure in the back closet. It can also go badly when permissions break, files go missing, or an application turns out not to support the cloud at all.
That is why our cloud migration services start with an inventory and a written plan, not a weekend of copying files.
Common things we move
- On-site email to Microsoft 365
- File servers to SharePoint and OneDrive
- Shared drives and permissions
- Line-of-business apps to hosted versions where available
- Backups to cloud storage
- Old servers to cloud servers when it makes sense
What our cloud migration services include
Readiness review
Which apps, files, and devices are ready, and which need work first.
Microsoft 365 migration
Mailboxes, calendars, and contacts moved with minimal downtime.
File migration
Folders, permissions, and shortcuts rebuilt so staff find what they need.
Cloud servers
We help plan and set up hosted servers when an app must stay on a server.
Security from day one
MFA, conditional access, and sharing rules set before users arrive.
Cloud backup
Cloud data still needs its own backup.
Our 5-step migration plan
- InventoryList data, apps, users, and dependencies.
- PlanChoose the destination, order, and cutover date.
- PilotMove a small group first and fix surprises.
- CutoverMove everyone, usually after hours, with a fallback ready.
- Clean upTrain staff, retire old systems, and update documentation.
Choosing the right cloud migration path
There is no single cloud. Microsoft 365 handles email and documents well. Some industry software has its own hosted version. A few applications still need a server, which can be hosted in the cloud or kept on-site. Good cloud migration services match each workload to the right home.
Questions we answer before moving
- Does your software vendor support the cloud version you need?
- How much data is there, and how fast is your internet upload?
- Who needs access to what, from where?
- What happens if the internet goes down?
- How will costs change month to month?
Following a proven framework
Microsoft publishes the Cloud Adoption Framework, which breaks a move into strategy, planning, readiness, migration, and governance. We use a scaled-down version for small offices so nothing is skipped.
After the move
The cloud still needs care. Licenses need reviewing, sharing settings drift, and staff need help finding things. We stay on after migration through managed IT services or a short support period, whichever fits. If you are planning bigger changes, IT consulting can map the next steps.
Keeping downtime low
Most of the copying happens quietly in the background while people keep working. The final switch, when staff start using the new location, is scheduled for an evening or weekend. We prepare a short guide for staff that shows where their files now live, how to sync them to their computer, and how to share safely with clients. The old system stays read-only for a while as a safety net, then is retired once everyone is comfortable. This is how our cloud migration services avoid the first-morning panic.
Costs matter too. We estimate the monthly cloud spend before the move, compare it with keeping the old server, and point out any licensing changes so the first invoice holds no surprises.
Cloud migration services FAQ
Will we lose email during the move?
No. Mailboxes are copied in the background and switched over at a planned time, usually after hours.
Can we keep our server?
Yes, if it is the right home for an application. Many offices end up with a mix of cloud and on-site.
Is the cloud more secure?
It can be, when set up with MFA, sensible sharing rules, and backups. Defaults alone are not enough.
Which cloud platforms do you work with?
Microsoft 365 is the most common. For other platforms, we will review your needs and explain the options.
